The Cyrcle is a circular smartphone intended to appeal to women. It’s trying to keep their natural preferences in mind and have designed the unique smartphone accordingly. Cyrcle is developed by Dtoor, a company founded by former Microsoft employees Christina Cyr and Linda Inagawa. The interesting thing about Dtoor is its shirt for ‘Designing the Opposite of Rectangle. Cyrcle represents a more ‘elegant’ device which is meant to fit better in women’s smaller pockets than rectangular smartphones. I do agree that rectangular phones tend to look a bit on the masculine side but fancy covers and cases help women achieve the girly touch that they’d like on their phones. With Cyrcle these things are a non issue. The phone flips open like a compact mirror, and has a small circular screen embedded in the bottom half.
A 2G model of Cyrcle is launching on Kickstarter at a cost of $100. They then intend to improve the design and release a more advanced 4G version the year after, with two screens. I do like what I see, what about you?
