Kids and vaccinations never went well together. I have never seen any child walk into a health clinic with a smile on his face. But if you put some thought into it, shouldn’t a clinic, hospital or health centre be more comforting as that’s what you need there the most. However, the kids in Hong Kong are beaming at the thought of getting a shot. Asia’s first Hello Kitty-themed health center opened in Hong Kong to adoring fans. Situated at a shopping mall, the centre is decked out from top to bottom with Hello Kitty pictures and imagery. From the couches in the waiting area, to the scales, to band aids, all has the personal touch of the famous kitten on it.
It’s really nice to see children walk in with a smile and walk out with a smile as well! Can be touted as the Disneyland of hospitals, and while I am an ardent Hello Kitty hater, I do think anything that can make children smile bright deserves encouragement, even if it means a Hello Kitty clad health centre where you will be given utmost care, and abundant Hello Kitty. I’m seriously sick now.
