Water conservation is the need of the hour. As we are approaching towards the dangers of global warming, it’s importing that we save water as much as we can. IKEA has collaborated with Vincent Van Rheden for a Mindful Kitchen Tap, that interacts with the water flow to remind users what impact their water usage has on the environment.
This faucet can be turned on and off with just a tap of the hand. The tap alters the water flow, with hand movements. When the hand moves up, the flow will decrease. When the hand moves down, the flow will increase. Thus, saving water and making users aware how much water they are using. While the faucet is running, the drains remain closed, allowing the sink to fill with water. Once the water turns off, the user has two options. Either they can discard the water, or recycle it for plants and toilets.
This Mindful Kitchen Tap is part of the Concept Kitchen 2025 movement, along with a number of other amazing innovations. Though, it’s still a concept, a tap like this is required in every house.
