Twitter rolls out a native button that lets users search and post GIFs

Say goodbye to boring static tweets, as Twitter rolls out a new button, that lets you be a little more animated. Twitter said on Wednesday in a blog post that users could search and browse a GIF library when composing a tweet or direct message. A GIF, short for graphic interchange format, is a moving image that plays over and over again. It is often used on social media to express users’ emotions. When users open the tweet compose window, a small icon will show up at the bottom, along with the icons for adding images, a location, and polls. Once they tap it, they can either browse through various popular categories or use the search bar to find a specific GIF.

Twitter says it’s progressively rolling out the button to its users, and it will be available on iOS, Android, and the Web.
