Do you remember anything from last years Los Angeles Auto Show? What about that hard-to-forget VW Beetle Convertible Denim special edition? I doubt anyone who has seen or heard of it would ever be able to keep this out of their minds. The car is a beauty with or without denim but a good stylish change never did anyone any harm right? I’m guessing this is the first of its kind too; Sold exclusively in the U.S., the new special edition will be limited to 2,000 units and all of them will have a dark blue soft top with a new denim-like textured fabric. Not just the exterior, the theme is consistent even inside the car. The limited edition Beetle’s interior will feature a bespoke light blue & silver theme with jeans-inspired seat pockets and red Beetle flags. Cute right? There’s more in store as no theme is complete without something done on the seat (rhyme intended).
Inside you will find, the cars come with light blue denim-color cloth upholstery with dark blue leatherette accents and white piping. Power is provided exclusively by a turbocharged 1.8-liter gasoline four-cylinder engine developing 170 bhp (126 kW) and 184 lb-ft (249 Nm) of torque sent to the road through a six-speed automatic gearbox. Other important and necessary features are all in place too, like a five-inch touchscreen display, USB, AUX, SD card slot, and Bluetooth connectivity. Thinking of getting one of these? 2016 Beetle Convertible Denim can be had from $25,995 MSRP, without taking into account the additional $820 for destination and handling fees.
